Research Interests

My research focuses on the computational investigation of methane pyrolysis processes aimed at sustainable hydrogen production coupled with the formation of high-performance solid carbon materials. My primary objective is to develop kinetic and reactor-scale models for gas-phase reactions and carbon deposition phenomena, supporting process understanding and optimisation.

My main research interests include:

  • Gas-phase kinetic modelling, focused on reaction pathways leading to the formation of carbon precursors and pyrolytic carbon deposition from the gas phase.
  • Heterogeneous carbon deposition mechanisms, including the transition from molecular species to solid carbon.
  • Multiscale and modular modelling approaches, coupling detailed chemical kinetics with transport phenomena to describe reactive environments relevant to pyrolysis reactors.
