Research Interests
My main scientific interests are focused on catalysis and thermochemical conversion processes, particularly for sustainable energy and circular economy applications. I aim to understand and model the complex reaction pathways involved in converting waste biomass and plastics into fuels, chemicals, and functional materials.
My research interests include:
- Hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC) and hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of biomass, plastics, and mixed waste streams
- Catalytic upgrading and hydroprocessing of bio-oils and waste-derived intermediates
- Development and evaluation of heterogeneous catalysts for selective oxidation, hydrodeoxygenation, and CO₂ hydrogenation
- Linking experimental characterisation techniques (such as GC-MS, FTIR, TGA, and CHNS) with mechanistic and kinetic analysis
